A New Year and some important changes.

We hope you have all had a great Xmas and are now starting to come round from last night.

A New Year and we need to update you on a couple of important changes.

Firstly we are pleased to inform you that Matt Iles has joined us as player coach. Many of you will know Matt as he has played for Maidstone for many years and was part of their Intermediate cup winning side at Twickenham last season. He, in turn, knows LSSC well having played for the cricket section since he was a boy. We are sure you will want to make him feel welcome.

As you are aware Lee has done a great job for us covering the training nights since Charlie Almond stepped down and we are lucky that a club of our size is able to call on someone of Lee’s knowledge and experience when we need assistance. Lee will still be around and playing when he is able but for the record we wanted to formally thank him on behalf of everyone for all he has done.

Probably less of a surprise is that Chris Callaway will be taking over from Pat as 1st team captain. Hastings on the 9th January will be the first game for the Iles/Callaway combination. Please give them your fullest support.

The second team are currently without a Captain and we would encourage anyone who would like to take up the challenge to step forward. In the meantime we will still be trying to put together a side each week but this very much depends on all players declaring their availability in plenty of time. Please do your best to reply as quickly as you can to whoever is trying to get a side together.

Finally there will be no training this Wednesday (6th January) but please do your best to attend in future weeks.

Wishing you all the very best for 2016.
